About Dr Jesse B. Davis

There are moments in life when God breathes, and everything changes. My story is shaped by those moments. I am a husband, a father, a pastor, a writer, and a man who has been carried by the mercy of God through seasons that should have taken my life. From leukemia to COVID-19 complications, from hospital rooms to the quiet places where only the Lord can speak, God preserved my breath and awakened my calling. That awakening is the heartbeat behind every word I write.

The Life That Matters (TLTM) began as a cry from my own soul — a recognition that life is fragile, breath is sacred, and every follower of Christ is called to rise with purpose. God did not rescue me so I could drift. He rescued me so I could stand. Everything I write is built on that conviction. My desire is to help you see the same truth: the life you have is a gift from God, and He intends for it to matter.

I write as a warrior who has been reshaped in the fire. My books are not theory or rehearsed inspiration. They are born from Scripture, suffering, surrender, and the unmistakable presence of the Spirit of God. They are for anyone who wants to wake up spiritually, stand firm, and live a life aimed at the glory of Christ. Whether you're a new believer, a seasoned disciple, or simply searching for direction, I want my words to call you upward and deeper into the life God designed for you.

  • I believe God awakens people with purpose. My mission is to help believers move from drifting to living with clear, courageous intention. Through writing, teaching, and personal discipleship, I help people see that their breath is not accidental — it is a gift from God meant to be stewarded for His glory.

    Everything I create flows from this conviction. Whether through books, devotionals, music, or courses, my desire is to equip warriors in the Kingdom, strengthen the Church, and call people into deeper surrender to Christ.

  • I am called to write for the believer who wants more than comfort. I write for the one who wants to live awake, engaged, and obedient to the Spirit of God. The work God did in me — restoring breath, rebuilding strength, igniting purpose — is the work I now pour into others. My calling is to speak into the heart of the Church with urgency, clarity, and love, helping people become disciples who know the Lord, walk with Him, and live lives that matter.

    My incredible wife, Esther Joy, has stood with me through every battle, encouraging me, strengthening me, and reminding me of God’s faithfulness. The Lord has blessed us with seven amazing children: Joshua, Jada, Grace, Crissa, Nate, Jessi, and Josiah. They are my joy, my heritage, and a constant reminder of why this calling matters.

    My family has walked this journey with me, and their faith and strength shape every part of TLTM.
